Welcome to a hotel that’s anything but ordinary.
We’re so glad you’re here. This place was created around one simple idea: “I Wasn’t Expecting That.”
That’s the feeling we want to give you – not just through the colours around you or the unexpected little touches around the hotel, but in the warmth of the welcome, the creativity of the space, and the lasting glow you take with you when you leave (and, hopefully, come back soon).
We don’t do three-word slogans. What we do aim to give every guest is a very happy feeling – the kind that lingers long after check-out.
A Celebration of Local Talent
All the artwork you see around the hotel has been created by brilliant local artists – Nikki and Kimi, created to bring the energy, beauty and creativity of North Yorkshire inside these walls. Each piece tells a story, and every corridor is its own little gallery, here to spark your imagination and brighten your stay.
Hospitality That Truly Welcomes All
Our team is here to make everyone feel at home. That’s why:
- Several of our team members are trained in British Sign Language (BSL)
- All front-of-house staff receive training in neurodiversity awareness
- We’ve also had dementia-friendly training to ensure thoughtful, compassionate service for guests with cognitive conditions
Because we believe hospitality should be about more than comfort – it should be about care, understanding, and creating a space where everyone can feel at ease.

Four-Legged Friends Welcome!
At our hotel, dogs aren’t just allowed – they’re positively pampered. We know adventures are better with your best friend by your side, so we’ve made sure our hotel is as welcoming to dogs as it is to humans.
Our dedicated Pawsome and Pawfect dog-friendly rooms are designed with both comfort and convenience in mind – complete with easy outdoor access, wipe-clean surfaces, and plenty of space for post-walk snoozes.
Every pup checking in will receive a special welcome pack, including:
- A tasty treat
- A cosy blanket
- Water and food bowls
- A guide to local dog-friendly walks, pubs, and places to explore
We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs per room, for just £20 per stay. All we ask is that dogs are kept on a lead in shared areas and aren’t left unattended in rooms.
While we understand that accidents can happen, we kindly ask that owners take full responsibility for any damage caused during their stay. We want everyone – two-legged and four – to have the best experience possible.
Prefer a pet-free room? No worries – we also offer a selection of dog-free rooms for guests with allergies or different preferences.
